On 28 January 2020, Chris lost his mum to suicide, a short while after his dad had passed away from cancer. At the start of January Chris embarked on a 28-day running challenge that will see him run 10km every day to raise money for two charities close to his heart. February is a good month with only 28 days, then Spring is here with hopefully warmer weather. He started on 1st January 2021 and will finish on 31st December 2021 – running every day of this year! So far he has completed 31 days, 160 km, 8% of the way there! He has endured the worst winter running weather with snow and ice on his early morning runs. However running 5 km every day without fail will be a big undertaking! I have chosen to raise funds for The Queen’s Club Foundation to enable others to be active.” After physios, back brace and steroid injections, the best treatment is to be active, so running helps me. “For the past 7 years I have suffered from a severe back pain and been diagnosed with Axial Spondyloarthritis. The only time Ive ever run long distance was a 5k race on Bitsians day in Delhi. James spoke about the reasons for him taking on this challenge: We follow a run/walk program, where you alternate. In 2021 he will run at least 5km every day of the year come snow, ice, rain or shine! In 2018 James ran the London Marathon, 42 km, but this year James is taking on his next challenge and will run a minimum of 152 hours of running and 1825 km.
